Pilates can benefit anyone, and it's never too late to start!

As we age, we need to stay committed to our fitness, in particular: strength-training, balance, flexibility, and range of motion, because if you don't use it, you lose it! We need to be able to perform every day activities without suffering from back, knee, shoulder, or neck problems. Many older people also struggle with balance, postural issues, arthritis, osteopenia, or osteoporosis, or post-surgical outcomes from hip or knee replacements or spinal fusions. Certain basic actions like getting up from a chair, using stairs, or lifting groceries become unnecessarily difficult. Need to work on your balance, abdominal strength, endurance, or recurring painful joints due to poor movement patterns that no longer serve you? Framework Pilates will help you achieve better independence, health, mobility, vitality, and quality of life with a tailor-made workout that is best for you!

We retire too early and we die too young. Our prime of life should be in the 70’s and old age should not come until we are almost 100.
— Joseph Pilates

I used to view aging as a gradual degradation of natural strengths, and therefore it would be futile of me to resist the process. But as I am learning now, even in retirement, the body responds to training. It takes private Pilates instructors that are aware of what each person requires. I have some arthritis in my hip that caused pain, and as result I developed a number of irregular muscle habits that were harmful to my walking effectually. Little successes in Pilates have caused me to better understand how aging can be a process that many of us can use to actually improve our health. I am becoming more aware of the bad habits I had developed, and, bit by bit, retrain the muscles to work together properly. I am more mobile now than I was 5 years ago. I highly recommend Pilates.
